Referring to the employment fair of the Centre, he said that the government is organizing it from October 2022 and till now appointment letters have been handed over to about 10 lakh people. The Finance Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving 51,000 appointment letters to the candidates digitally today across the country. Appointment letters are being given to 553 people from Tamil Nadu. He called for local learning to improve the delivery of services by candidates after selection in a public sector undertaking or bank.
He said that better services can be provided to customers through local languages. Citing an example, Sitharaman said that if a candidate has got a job in Karnataka then he should learn Kannada. If he is posted in Tamil Nadu, he should learn Tamil. Due to candidates not having local knowledge, there is laxity in service delivery.
