The people of Arunachal Pradesh will no longer have to face the hassle of talking on the phone. Now 4G mobile internet service will be started in about 336 border villages of the state to easily talk to loved ones sitting in far flung areas.
Itanagar. 4G mobile internet service will be started in about 336 border villages of Arunachal Pradesh. The government commissioned 254 mobile network towers here on Saturday. The government has approved a project to set up 2,605 mobile 4G towers in over 3,721 villages in Arunachal Pradesh for Rs 2,675 crore.
Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju dedicated 254 mobile towers at a function. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Most of the towers that have been commissioned today are in border areas. He said, 4G service has already started at our district headquarters like Itanagar. Our aim is to extend connectivity to hitherto unconnected and inaccessible areas.”
Union Telecom and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was also present in the programme. Vaishnav said the project involves difficult terrain, and joint efforts have made it a success. He said that new rail projects are ready for Arunachal Pradesh, and these will be taken up expeditiously.
