With the help of this service, you will be able to order your food online with the help of WhatsApp. So let’s know how you can take advantage of this new service of IRCTC.
Order food by messaging on this number
Passengers traveling by train will soon be able to order food through a WhatsApp number. Also, the system loaded with artificial intelligence will answer their queries related to e-catering and booking food. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is already providing food on some routes through WhatsApp number 8750001323.
WhatsApp chat available for select trains
Railways said in a statement today – WhatsApp dialogue for e-catering services will be for select trains. Based on the feedback and suggestions of the passengers, the company will implement it in other trains as well. Railways said that IRCTC has started e-catering services through a specially developed website and its e-catering app ‘Food on Track’.
E-catering service being started in two phases
E-catering services are being started in two phases through WhatsApp. The first phase has been implemented. Under this, people booking e-tickets are being sent a message from a WhatsApp number, in which a ‘web link’ is being provided, to opt for e-catering services. They then book food from restaurants of their choice available at stations en route. For this, they do not need to download the app on their mobile phones and can do so directly through the IRCTC website. In the next step, information about the food is given on WhatsApp. Under this, WhatsApp Number provides a two-way communication platform powered by artificial intelligence to the passenger, where all queries related to e-catering services are answered. At present, around 50,000 food packets are being served to passengers through e-catering services of IRCTC website and app. (with language input)
