New Delhi, 09 April (HS). The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has expanded the production capacity of its Manesar plant by one lakh units per year. Maruti has added a vehicle ‘assembly line’ to the existing Plant-A, one of the three manufacturing plants in Manesar, Haryana. The company launched Ertiga on this occasion.
Maruti said in a statement on Tuesday that the company launched Ertiga in the new assembly line of the plant located in Manesar, Haryana. The company has added a vehicle ‘assembly line’ to the existing Plant-A among the three manufacturing plants. According to Maruti, the new ‘assembly line’ has the capacity to produce one lakh units per year. With this, the production capacity of vehicles in Manesar will increase to nine lakh per year.
MSI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hisashi Takeuchi said that our target is to almost double our capacity to 40 lakh vehicles per year in the next seven-eight years. He said that this capacity increase of one lakh vehicles per year is a step towards this goal.
