RBI has given a new update regarding this note that due to the work related to annual accounting in banks, you will not get the facility to exchange or deposit Rs 2000 bank note on the first day of the new month. That means this facility will not be available on April 1, 2024.
This information has been given by issuing a statement from RBI. RBI said that this facility will not be available on April 1, 2024, but this facility will be restored in 19 regional offices of the central bank on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that on May 19, 2023, the Reserve Bank of India had announced to remove bank notes of Rs 2,000 denomination from circulation. The bank had asked to deposit the Rs 2,000 notes in banks or exchange them with notes of other denominations. This type of facility has been provided in 19 offices.
