Common people may soon get rewarded for uploading GST invoices on a mobile app. The government is going to start the much awaited ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ scheme soon. Two officials related to the case said that under the Invoice Promotion Scheme, people who upload bills from retailers or wholesalers (on the Invoice app) can be given monthly/quarterly cash rewards ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore. The ‘Bill Mera Adhikar’ app will be available on both iOS and Android platforms.The ‘invoice’ uploaded on the app should contain GSTIN of the seller, invoice number, amount paid and tax amount.
More than 500 draws will be taken out every month
According to the information revealed, more than 500 computerized draws will be taken every month for this. There will be a prize of lakhs of rupees in this. 2 draws will be organized in every quarter of the year. The main goal of this government scheme is to encourage citizens and customers to ask for real invoices from sellers while making business-to-consumer purchases, which are also under the purview of GST. Now it will be a matter to be seen that till when the government is going to implement this scheme.
There will be a limit of 25 bills
According to media reports, officials having knowledge of the matter said that the Mera Bill Mera Adhikar app will be made available on both iOS and Android platforms. The seller’s GSTIN, bill number, payment amount and tax amount must be mentioned on the bill that will be uploaded on the app. At the same time, according to the information revealed, any person can upload a maximum of 25 bills during a month and the minimum amount of this bill should also be Rs 200.
