NPPA fixes retail price of 74 drugs

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the prices of drugs under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order 2013 based on the decision taken in the 109th meeting of the Authority held on 21st February.
Drug prices regulator NPPA on Monday said it has fixed the retail price of 74 drugs, including drugs for the treatment of diabetes and hypertension. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the prices of drugs under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order 2013 based on the decision taken in the 109th meeting of the Authority held on 21st February.
As per the notification, NPPA has fixed the price of one tablet of Dapagliflozin Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride (Extended-Release Tablet) at Rs 27.75. Similarly, the drug price regulator has fixed the price of one tablet of blood pressure lowering drug telmisartan and bisoprolol fumarate at Rs 10.92.
The NPPA has also revised the ceiling price of 80 scheduled drugs (NLEM 2022), including drugs used in the treatment of epilepsy and neutropenia. NPPA enforces as well as amends the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order.
