NPS: The option list for both NPS, Atal Pension Yojana on the new website is divided into six categories. These include facilities and benefits, online services, returns and charts, NPS calculator and complaints and solutions.
Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has relaunched the website of National Pension System Trust with new improvements. Some new facilities have been added in this, which will be useful for the members associated with the National Pension Scheme. The website was launched by Dr. Deepak Mohanty, Chairman, PFRDA.
According to PFRDA, necessary changes have been made in the website to further strengthen the pension system. Its objective is to provide information related to National Pension System (NPS) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) to all the members without any hindrance. The new website can be operated from desktop and mobile. Many new features and improvements have been added to it to better meet the needs of the people. The website is available in Hindi and English language.
Three important tabs have been included on its homepage itself. These include Open NPS Account, Plan Retirement (Pension Calculator) and View NPS Holdings. With their help, members can get the necessary information on one click. Apart from this, you can see the total benefit of NPS received annually through simple graphics on the homepage itself. Subscribers can access complete details of their NPS account by authenticating their PRAN, date of birth and OTP under the online service option.
New calculator for calculating pension
A new calculator has been given on the website. With the help of this, the scheme members can easily calculate the expected pension and lump sum amount on retirement. Also you can get information about returns and benefits of NPS. By visiting the website, members can also know how much to invest now to get a good pension after retirement. One has to enter the details of date of birth, total investment of the month and for how many years the investment will be done in the calculator. In this, investment options have been given for 57 and 75 years.
Pension under NPS
There is an option to stay in NPS till the age of 75 years. After retirement at the age of 60, only 60% of the lump sum amount can be withdrawn from NPS. It is tax free. The remaining 40 percent amount has to be invested in annuity/pension scheme, from which pension is received.
