New Delhi, March 14 (HS). Public sector company National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has crossed the figure of 400 billion units (BU) of electricity production in the current financial year 2023-24. This is more than the electricity produced in the last year.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Power Ministry said that NTPC Group has crossed the mark of 400 billion units (BU) of electricity generation in the financial year 2023-24, which is more than the electricity produced in the previous financial year 2022-23. . The company had produced a total of 399.3 billion units of electricity in the financial year 2022-23.
According to the ministry, in the current financial year till March 13, 2024, NTPC has achieved this feat with an average Plant Loading Factor (PLF) of 77.06 percent for coal stations, which is a milestone. Last year, the company had recorded the highest single-day electricity generation of 1,428 million units on September 1, 2023.
The Power Ministry said that the excellent performance of NTPC units is a testament to the expertise of NTPC engineers, its operation and maintenance practices and systems. This achievement strengthens NTPC’s commitment to provide reliable and affordable power to the nation. At the same time, the company is committed to achieve 60 GW renewable energy capacity by the year 2032.
