Ola Electric cuts entry-level scooter prices by up to Rs 10,000

New Delhi . Electric two-wheeler maker Ola Electric on Monday cut the prices of all variants of its entry-level model S1X by Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. With this price cut, this electric scooter of Ola has now come close to the traditional scooter models.
Ola launched the S1X model in February this year at a starting price of Rs 79,999. Its most advanced version was priced at Rs 1,09,999. Ola Electric Chief Marketing Officer Anshul Khandelwal in his online address said that the prices of this entry-level scooter have been reduced with immediate effect and their supplies will also start from next week. After the announcement of the cut, the price of the starting variant of this model has gone up to Rs 69,999 while the most advanced variant will now be priced at Rs 99,999.
“We think India needs a lot more,” Khandelwal said. India needs a price at which consumers can actually adopt EVs.” He said that with an average electric scooter priced at Rs 1 lakh, the response from consumers has been that it will be priced at par with petrol scooters. So they will think about that. Keeping this opinion in mind, it has been decided to reduce the prices.
