New Delhi (Best Hindu News): The government said on Saturday that work on the nuclear power project being set up in Gorakhpur village of Fatehabad district in Haryana is progressing well and about one-fourth of the funds allocated for it have been spent so far. Already happened.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that out of the total allocation of Rs 20,594 crore, so far, Rs 4,906 crore has been sanctioned for North India’s first nuclear power plant being set up in Haryana, about 150 km from the capital. has been spent. This shows an equivalent utilization of 23.8 per cent of the financial allocation. Its construction work is in progress. Dr. Singh also has the responsibility of the Department of Atomic Energy.
A release from the Department of Atomic Energy quoted Dr Singh as saying that the Gorakhpur Haryana Atomic Power Project (GHAVP) will have two units of 700 MW each. Indigenously designed Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) are being installed in each of these.
The Minister informed that there are buildings/structures, fire water pump houses, safety related pump houses, fuel oil storage area, ventilation stacks, overhead tanks, switchyard control buildings, safety related and non-safety related tunnels and trenches, retaining walls and The work of construction of the drain is going on well.
He said that in this project, the earthworks of Turbine Building-I & II, 220 KV Switchyard and IDCT-1A have been completed. The work of 400 KV switchyard, emergency pond and roads is in progress. In addition, orders for purchase of primary coolant pump, calandria, reactor headers, refueling machine heads, moderator and other D20 heat exchangers etc. have already been placed.
Similarly, the ‘end shield’ and all the steam generators for the first unit of this project have been delivered to the construction site. The construction of other equipment is at various stages and their delivery to the site is expected in time to meet the construction schedule.
Dr Singh said that it is the priority of the government to increase India’s nuclear capacity and a major approval has been given by the Modi government in the last eight years to set up 10 nuclear power stations. He said that till now most of the nuclear power houses are in the south. Nuclear power plants will be set up in other parts of the country under the leadership of Shri Modi.
