Prayagraj/Varanasi: Exactly one month is left for the rituals to begin in the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Meanwhile, the demand for flags of Shri Ram and Hanuman has started increasing.
‘Pataka’ (flag) traders have received orders for saffron flags with Shri Ram/Ayodhya written on them from Hindu organisations, residential colonies, apartments and individuals.
Surat Ram, a prominent businessman from Varanasi, said, “We have received orders for 50,000 flags bearing the imprint of the temple structure with Sri Ram and Hanuman in the last fortnight alone and plan to supply around three lakh more to the city and surrounding districts in January.” hopefully.”
He said, “There has been a sudden increase in the demand for saffron colored Shri Ram printed flags and red colored Shri Hanuman Pataka (flag) among the devotees. There are orders for religious flags of various sizes and shapes. We are hiring more tailors to meet the demand.”
Meanwhile, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Kashi province) officials have also ordered 10,000 saffron flags to be put up on temples and houses in Prayagraj alone.
VHP (Kashi Province) President K.P. Singh said, “We are appealing to the people of Hindu community to hoist the saffron flag or Shri Ram/Hanuman flag at their homes on January 22. We will also distribute flags among the devotees.”
Apart from VHP, volunteers of RSS and other Hindu organizations have also decided to distribute flags among the devotees with the aim to hoist this flag at the house of every Hindu community member on the day of Lord Ram and temple Pran Pratishtha.
