At least 50 organizations from the Center and the state on Friday demanded the revival of the old pension scheme. He said that the present National Pension Scheme (NPS) has proved to be disadvantageous for the retired personnel. In a statement, the NJCA said, “NPS came into force for central employees recruited after January 1, 2004, and different state governments implemented it on different dates, making it disadvantageous for retiring employees.” It does not match the Guaranteed Old Pension Scheme in any way. According to the statement, the organizations feel that there is a need to scale up the movement and take action at the national level. A joint platform has been constituted for revival of the old pension scheme under the banner of NJCA, the statement said.
