Speaking to Radio Nasha, Parineeti Chopra mentioned that this happened largely because the film was released along with SS Rajamouli’s epic Baahubali 2, starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati. Parineeti also spoke about how she feels that Meri Pyaari Bindu deserved more love at the box office and said, “Meri Pyaari Bindu was released with Baahubali and hence it didn’t get the love then. But that’s the film for I get the most love today. And that’s what matters. There are many films like this that don’t make numbers at the time, but they always find you.”
On playing the role of a ‘small town girl’
During the same conversation, Parineeti also revealed how she felt that she had played the character of a ‘small town girl’ so well that at that time she was asked in her interviews if she spoke English. He said “It’s crazy. When I did some small-town roles, people started coming up to me and saying, ‘Oh, you speak English? You know how to speak English?’ I found this strange. How would you assume I don’t speak English?
Talking about the work front, Parineeti will next be seen in Mission Raniganj with Akshay Kumar. She also has Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila in the pipeline, where she will share screen space with Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh.
