The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) issued instructions to seven Indian airlines that passengers should receive their registered luggage within 10 minutes to 30 minutes. BCAS has issued this order to Air India, IndiGo, Akasa, SpiceJet, Vistara, Air India Express Connect and Air India Express.

The new rule will come into effect from 26 February. BCAS has said that even after this, if the airlines do not improve, strict action will be taken against them. Let us tell you that the work of BCAS i.e. Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is to monitor the standards, working systems of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the protocols related to the National Civil Aviation Security Standards of India.

BCAS was established in the year 1978 under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. At that time there were reports of kidnapping and violence in flights. BCAS was created to control these. In 1987, BCAS was made an independent body. BCAS started monitoring the baggage system at six major airports from January this year.

It has been revealed that there has already been some improvement in the delivery of baggage system, but it still needs further improvement because many passengers are still not getting their baggage on time. Only after this, BCAS has made these rules to ensure timely delivery of baggage to the airlines.
