Paytm to introduce Rupay credit card, tie up with SBI card and NPCI

Mumbai : Online payments and financial services company Paytm has partnered with SBI Card to introduce ‘Paytm SBI Card’ on RuPay network. The company gave this information on Thursday. The partnership of Paytm and SBI Card, which started in the year 2020, is now expanding by adding National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) Rupay. The three home-grown companies have come together to drive the development of inclusive, digital-first financial services in the country.
Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma told the media that India is on the cusp of the next payments revolution where ‘credit’ will become a mainstream payment option. He said that the combination of SBI Card, Paytm Rupay Credit Card would be the best option for the consumers.

Our users are already well used to QR code based payments and the functionality of RuPay Credit Card on UPI QR code will accelerate transactions on mobile phones. This will be the new era of digital payments. Cardholders of each variant will be entitled to 2% cashback on payments through Paytm and 1% cashback on all purchases except wallet reloads and fuel expenses.

According to the company, this new card offers exceptional rewards and benefits to the users. Customers can enjoy exclusive privileges up to Rs 75,000 through Paytm First membership, which includes OTT platform membership and discounts on flight tickets through the app. The Paytm SBI Card also offers rewards and savings when used on the Paytm app. Cardholders will get 3 percent cashback on Paytm SBI Card when they book movie and travel tickets on the app, 2 percent cashback on all other purchases on the Paytm app and 1 percent cashback on spending elsewhere.
