In the commodity market, precious metals like gold and silver saw a decline of 0.71% and 4.8% respectively. While Brent crude futures regained its previous rally. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought equity worth Rs 837.21 crore on Thursday. While domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold equity worth Rs 200.09 crore.
Today it is important to keep an eye on the earnings reports of several major companies including CIPLA, DLF, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Tata Motors Limited and Vedanta Limited.
The advance-decline ratio remained in favor of gains with 1622 scrips advancing and 1513 scrips declining on the BSE. Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and Asian Paints were among the top gainers on the Sensex. While Power Grid Corporation, NTPC, Tata Steel and Infosys were in decline. Shares of BSE’s top smallcap gainer South Indian Bank gained over 11 per cent.
