New Delhi : Wall Street indices fell on Wednesday on concerns of higher interest rates and an economic recession. Asian markets were also seen trading with a decline. Shares of IT and auto sectors were seen pulling down the market today. BSE IT was the worst performing sector. It declined by more than 1%. While BSE Utilities was top gainer with Adani Transmission, Adani Green Energy and Adani Power gaining up to 5% each. BSE Realty and BSE Power also showed significant gains.

The BSE Sensex fell 0.56% to 59,080 in early trade. At the same time, the Nifty-50 index fell 0.59% to the level of 17,347. Bajaj Finserv, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank were the top gainers on the Sensex today. While Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra and Axis Bank were the losers in the market.

The advance-decline ratio still remained in favor of advances, with 1,603 scrips advancing and 1,262 scrips declining on the BSE. The broad indices have outperformed the core indices. Shares of BSE’s top smallcap gainer, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd have gained over 9%. Because the company has emerged as the lowest bidder for the supply of 200 Vande Bharat Trainsets. Despite the fall in the market, many penny stocks hit the upper circuit today. These stocks can be monitored.
