Mumbai: The BSE Sensex was trading at 60,696.01 points with a gain of 32 points at 11.20 am. BSE Midcap was trading at 24,882.97 points with a gain of 0.0047% i.e. two points in the broader market. Nifty IT was the best performer. It gained more than 0.17%. On the other hand, Nifty Metal declined the most by more than 1.32%. The stocks that have gained the most include Divis Labs, Bajaj Finance, Grasim, Bajaj Finserv and HDFC Life. On the other hand, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Hero MetroCorp, UPL and Tata Motors declined the most.
The Nifty 50 index was trading flat at 17865 points. Bank Nifty fell by 158 points to 41,379.55 points. Advance-decline ratio is in favor of decline. 1618 scrips advanced while 1630 scrips declined on BSE. There is no change in the price of 142 shares. Talking about global markets, tech stocks have declined the most. Shares of Alphabet Inc fell more than seven per cent. The company’s new AI chatbot Bard gave false information in an online ad.
