BSE Power and BSE Utilities were the worst performing sectors on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday. However, today there was a huge rally in Vodafone Idea. That’s why BSE Telecom surprised investors with a gain of nearly 3% in a gloomy market. With significant gains of over 13%, shares of Indus Towers Ltd also contributed to the rally in the telecom sector.

At 10:40 am today, the BSE Sensex fell 0.71% to the level of 60,406. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.73% to the level of 17,723. On Sensex, IndusInd Bank, ITC Ltd and Axis Bank were the top gainers in the market. On the same day, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tata Steel were the top losers in the market.

Looking at the Broader Indices, it outperformed the Major Indices by a significant margin. On the BSE, 1,720 scrips advanced and 1,522 scrips declined. At the same time, the advance decline ratio remained in favor of the rising stocks. D-Link (India) Limited was the top gainer in the BSE Smallcap scrip. Not only the volumes have increased, the price has also increased by more than 16%. Shares of Voltamp Transformers and Chaman Lal Setia Exports were also heavily bought.
