Mumbai Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), the Indian subsidiary of Piaggio Group, the leading Italian automobile manufacturer, on Tuesday said that it will introduce its electric three-wheeler Ape Electric in the Philippines. The electric three-wheeler will be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing unit located in Baramati, Maharashtra. “For Piaggio Vehicles, entering the Philippines marks a milestone in the global acceptance of electric vehicles and a better environment,” said Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director of PVPL.
He then added, “We see huge export potential in the market and wish to make meaningful collaborations in the electric vehicle sector.” The vehicles will be equipped with Sun Mobility’s advanced battery-swapping technology. The vehicle, which will be available in the Philippines through subsidiary Rosco Motors Inc., will be the first electric three-wheeler there, the company said.
