Modi is staying at The Lotte New York Palace on Madison Avenue in New York. This hotel is 10-12 minutes away from Central Park. Modi has come to New York twice before and stayed in the same hotel. This five star hotel has 733 guest rooms and suites. The nightly rate for a king size bed in this hotel is around Rs 48,000. According to the hotel’s website, the room rent depends on its size and facilities. One night’s rent for Towers Penthouse Suite is around Rs 12.15 lakh.
Rare honor for Modi
Modi has come on a visit to America from 21 to 24 June at the invitation of US President Joe Biden. The US President will host a state banquet in Modi’s honor on June 22. On the same day, Modi will address a joint session of the US Congress. Modi is going to do this for the second time. So far only a few world leaders have received this honour. These include Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela and Israeli Prime Ministers Benjamin Netanyahu and Yitzhak Rabin. Earlier, on June 8, 2016, Modi addressed a joint sitting of the US Parliament. On his return from America, Modi will visit Egypt.
