Mumbai The government is thinking of rating all tourism related units on the basis of cleanliness and a format is also being prepared for this. Tourism Secretary V Vidyavati gave this information on Friday. Vidyawati told reporters on the sidelines of the tourism conference organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry that work on the format of cleanliness rating is going on. It is based on the principle of tourism for life.
He said, the cleanliness rating format is for all small and big units. The units that will maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings will be judged on several parameters like garbage disposal system. However, work on this rating is currently underway and the Tourism Ministry is consulting with various departments and concerned parties in this regard. The Tourism Secretary said that the government is working on the much-awaited tourism policy and preparations are on to adapt it to the changing needs.
