It said the price of vegetable oil fell by 17 percent and the price of potatoes by 14 percent in August compared to a year earlier, reducing the cost of thali to some extent. Thali prices may fall in September as retail prices of tomatoes have halved month-on-month to Rs 51 per kg, the report said. Moreover, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder, which was Rs 1,103 in August, has been reduced to Rs 903 from September, which may provide more relief to consumers.
