New Delhi: The Nifty 50 index opened higher at 17,427.95 points on Monday, while it closed at 17,359.75 points in the previous session. Domestic equity markets rose on strong global cues. US stock markets closed sharply on Friday. The stock market gained momentum on the prospect of softening of inflation in the US. The Nasdaq Composite gained 1.74%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.26% and the S&P 500 gained 1.44%. However, at the time of writing this article, their futures are trading down. A mixed trend is visible in the Asian market indices. Apart from Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and South Korea’s Kospi, all Asian markets are trading fast. At 9.55 am, the Nifty 50 index was trading with a gain of 10.55 points i.e. 0.06%. On the other hand, the performance of Broader Market Indices is better than Frontline Indices.
