According to the statement, the stock of availability has been taken together with various concerned parties including pulse traders. Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare has held a meeting, which was attended by representatives of the pulses industry.
The central government has also issued instructions to all the states to ensure disclosure of pulses stocks by traders on a weekly basis. The Central Government had directed to monitor the stock of yellow peas. Along with this, these instructions were also issued for the stock of Arhar dal, Urad dal, Chana dal, Masoor dal and Moong dal. Recently another meeting has been held in which the Secretary has warned the representatives of the pulses industry. During this it was said that action will be taken against those traders who do not follow the instructions of the government. Strict action will be taken against traders under the Essential Commodities Act.
An official of the Consumer Affairs Department had held a meeting with the Principal Secretaries of the states this week to put a cap on the price of pulses. In this, instructions were given to the State Secretaries to ensure the stock through stockholding entities.
It is noteworthy that in the last few weeks the prices of many pulses have increased.It is increasing. It includes yellow peas, pigeon pea, urad dal. The price of these pulses has increased by about Rs 100 in a month. The price of pulses has increased by 18 percent in the month of March. Inflation of pulses had increased by 18.48 percent in February.
