New Delhi: There is a huge uproar in Parliament on the Adani issue. On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that the central government was pressurizing GVK to award the Mumbai airport contract to Adani’s company. Rahul said that the central government is pressurizing the GVK company by using companies like CBI and ED. Rahul Gandhi’s allegations have been cleared by GVK. He denied Rahul’s allegations.
Speaking to Times Now, GVK Group Vice Chairman Sanjay Reddy said that there is no pressure on us. There is no pressure on the company to deal with Adani. He told that he wanted to raise funds for the Mumbai airport. The Adani group contacted him and he talked about the contract for the Mumbai airport. He said that we have worked in the interest of the company. He said that the Adani group assured that they would complete the transaction within a month, which was very important for us at that time. Reddy clarified that no interest was shown from any other company, after which we partnered with Adani’s company.
Refuting the allegations leveled by Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament, Sanjay Reddy said that neither any pressure was created from the Adani group nor anyone else for the Mumbai airport deal. Significantly, in July 2021, Adani Group took over the management of Mumbai Airport from GVK Group.
