At the same time, in the coming 4 to 5 years, new facilities like plug doors will be provided to prevent accidents like falling of passengers from the coach of the train. Until all the doors of the trains are closed, the train will not run. At the same time, it will also have features like system fail safe. In this, the doors will automatically open in case of an accident or emergency. Informed that in the next 5-6 years, trains will have only Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) and Vande Bharat type coaches. This will help in managing the maintenance cost.

These will be made available on platforms through Extended Service Counters located near these coaches. This “economy meal” will cost Rs 20 and the “snack meal” will cost Rs 50. Packaged water will also be sold. The “economy meal” will have seven ‘puris’ along with dry ‘aloo’ and pickle at a cost of Rs 20. And the “snack meal” will include rice, rajma, chole, khichdi kulche, bhatura, pao-bhaji and masana dosa etc. Railways has started this facility at 51 stations while it is planned to start it soon at many more stations.
