Rajasthan Budget 2023: Gehlot government will give benefit of old pension scheme to board and corporation employees

Jaipur : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has presented the last budget of his tenure on Friday. In this budget, he has also announced the benefit of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for the employees of boards and corporations in Rajasthan. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced the restoration of the old pension scheme for state government employees in last year’s budget. Extending this, Gehlot has now announced the benefits of the old pension scheme to the employees of state government boards, corporations, academies and universities. He said that this would benefit more than one lakh employees.
Announcement of inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore
Along with this, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced an inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore next year to provide relief to the people from inflation. This package includes free food packets every month to poor families, cooking gas cylinders for Rs 500 and free electricity up to 100 units to domestic electricity consumers. Along with this, Gehlot has announced to increase the cover amount from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh annually in his ambitious ‘Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana’, a health insurance scheme for the public.
Free ration to one crore families
He said that I announce to give free Chief Minister Annapurna food packets every month along with free ration to about one crore families coming under the ambit of the National Food Security Act. In this packet, one kilogram of pulses, sugar and salt and one liter of edible oil will be made available. About Rs 3,000 crore will be spent on this.
LPG for Rs 500
He announced to make LPG gas available at Rs.500 from next year to about 76 lakh families of BPL (below poverty line) and low income group included in Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Rs 1,500 crore will be spent on this. Gehlot said that 100 units of electricity per month will be given free of cost to domestic consumers under the Chief Minister’s Free Scheme. Earlier this limit was 50 units. With this, more than 1.04 crore families out of 1.19 crore in the state will be able to get domestic electricity free of cost. For this, a burden of Rs 7,000 crore will have to be borne.
