The Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan has been approached by the producers to play the iconic role of King Dasharatha. Dasharatha was the king of Kosala kingdom and father of Lord Rama.
The superstar is currently reading the script and has shown keen interest in the film, which is definitely a big green signal for the makers of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
However, Big B has not signed any paper yet. Therefore, it is too early to say whether Amitabh will actually play the role of Ranbir’s father in Ramayana or not.
Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, names of many actors have come forward for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. There are speculations about Lara Dutta playing the role of Kaikeyi, while KGF fame Yash is speculated to play the role of Ravana.
Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol have been approached for the respective roles of Kumbhakarna and Lord Hanuman. Vijay Sethupathi can play the role of Vibhishan and Naveen Polishetty can be seen in the role of Lakshman.
At present, only Ranbir Kapoor has been officially signed for the role of Lord Ram. The producers will soon share updates about the cast on social media.
To prepare for his role, Ranbir has given up alcohol and non-veg. According to speculations, he is currently undergoing a look test for the role of Lord Ram. This film is said to be one of the most expensive films. At present the budget is said to be Rs 350 crore, but as the shooting of the film starts, the budget is expected to increase.
