They and other citizens were not interested in enjoying the pleasure of seeing their devout royal son Bharat dressed in valkal clothes and black deer skin.

Pawanputra Hanuman considered the religious man Bharat to be another bodily religion. He folded his hands and said to Bharat – Ram, who wears Valkal clothes and matted hair and resides in Dandakaranya, about whom you always think, has sent you the news that he is safe. Hey, God! I am telling you a dear message. You leave this painful grief. At this very moment, you will meet your brother Ram… Ram is coming with the desire of success after killing Ravana and getting Sita along with his friends and a huge army. Ram is accompanied by Mahatejasvi Lakshman and Yashaswini Vaidehi. Sita is as beautiful with Ram as Shachi is with Indra. Hearing these words of Hanuman, Bharat, who loved his brother, became happy and suddenly fell on the ground and became unconscious due to happiness. Hearing the words of Hanuman, Bharat, the true warrior and the commander of enemy warriors, became very happy and gave orders to the joyful Shatrughna. People should become pure and worship all the gods and temples of the city with fragrant garlands and flutes. The Sutas and all the Vaitaliks who knew the praises and Puranas, the people skilled in playing musical instruments and the courtesans formed a group and came out to see the face of Ram as beautiful as the moon. Hearing Bharat’s words, Shatrughan, the killer and destroyer of enemy warriors, ordered thousands of servants. Fill the potholes and level the high mounds. Irrigate the entire land up to Nandigram with cold water. After this, other people cover the paths with nails and flowers. Flags should be hoisted in the streets of Uttam Nagar Ayodhya and people should decorate their houses before sunrise. Hundreds of people fill the crowded highway with garlands and fragrant flowers of five colors.

By the order of Shatrughan, the women of the royal family, ministers, armies, commanders, prostitutes, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, heads of different societies, Dhrishti, Jayant, Vijay, Siddhartha, Arthasadhak, Ashoka, Mandhapal and Sumantra, these eight ministers adorned with thousands of gold coins, Left the city sitting on elephants. Other maharathis came out sitting on elephants, female elephants and chariots with golden trunks. Other maharathis came out on horses, carrying Shakti, Rishti and Prasa in their hands and thousands of prominent people decorated with flags and banners. The brave Kshatriyas walked surrounded by thousands of foot soldiers.

When Shri Ram reached Ayodhya, all the citizens folded their hands and said – O great-armed one! O the one who increases the joy of Kaushalya! You are welcome. Bharat’s elder brother Ram saw thousands of folded hands of citizens looking like blooming lotuses. Religious wise Bharat took those sandals of King Ram and placed them at his feet. After this, Bharat folded his hands and said to Ram, Oh King! I returned your kingdom which I had protected to you. Today my birth was successful and my wish was fulfilled. I am seeing you as the king who has returned to Ayodhya. Look at your treasury, storehouse, capital and army. With your brilliance I have done everything tenfold. The tradition started by Bharat and Shatrughan when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after winning over Ravana ages ago, is still continuing today.

Valmiki’s Ramayana describes Ramrajya thus – ‘When Ram was ruling, there was no widow in sorrow, nor was there any danger from wild animals, nor was anyone afraid of disease. The world was saved from theft and plunder. No one realized the futility and the old people did not have to perform the last rites of the young. Every creature was happy. Everyone believed in morality. Just by seeing Shri Ram, the living beings gave up their violent tendencies. When Shri Ram was ruling, people lived for a thousand years with thousands of their descendants. No one had any illness or sorrow. The world had become Shri Ram’s world. Flowers and fruits grew continuously on the trees without any insects. It rained from time to time and the winds made the mind happy. When Shri Ram was ruling, people believed in morality and were living without lying. The character of all the people was very good. Everyone was engaged in charity work.

In Ramrajya, the people enjoyed every kind of happiness and everyone was engaged in charity. Keeping this in mind, the makers of our Constitution had set the goal of establishing Ramrajya in the country. On this holy festival of Diwali, let us resolve to adopt the dignity established by Shri Ram in our lives and follow the path of charity, only then will Ramrajya be established in the country.
