Actor Randeep Hooda, who is preparing for the release of Swatantra Veer Savarkar, recently told in an interview that despite working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Sarabjit’, he was closer with Sarabjit Singh’s sister. During an interview with Humans of Bombay, Randeep said that he formed a close bond with Sarabjit’s sister, played by Aishwarya Rai in the film. The actor further said that despite everyone’s best efforts to make Aishwarya look more plain than she was in real life, they did not quite succeed.
Aishwarya Rai is unreal
Randeep told in the interview that Aishwarya was very nice, very polite and she played her role well. He further said that she was completely dedicated and honest towards her work. Although they did not interact much on the sets as most of their scenes were separate from hers, whenever they did interact, she lived up to her reputation. A lot of efforts have been made to show him as real but he is unreal.
Created a strong relationship with Sarabjit’s sister
Regarding the relationship he developed with Sarabjit’s family, Randeep revealed that during the making of the film, he developed a stronger relationship with Sarabjit’s sister than with Aishwarya. He expressed regret over his demise and recalled fulfilling his last wish of setting his funeral pyre on fire. He mentioned that he wished he got more time with her, as she was a remarkable woman who took good care of Sarabjit’s children, who are now well settled. He also said that the film had a strong influence on real-life events.
Sarabjit is a 2016 biopic film
Directed by Omung Kumar, Sarabjit is a 2016 film, a biopic of Sarabjit Singh, who was convicted of terrorism and espionage in Pakistan. In the film, Randeep played the role of Sarabjit Singh, brother of Dalbir Kaur, who had strayed into Pakistan in 1990 in an intoxicated state and was kept in jail for 23 years on several serious charges.
