Internet Desk. The month of March is going on and this month is very important for banks. Because the new financial year starts from April 1 and in such a situation, banks have to finish their old year work in the month of March. In such a situation, the Reserve Bank of India has instructed the banks that despite March 31, 2024 being a Sunday, they will keep some of their branches especially open.
If media reports are to be believed, all these branches will deal with government work. However, March 31 is also the last day of the financial year, hence on that day work in banks will continue till late night, but there will be no public dealing. RBI has issued a statement saying that on March 31, all those branches of banks which deal with government receiving and payments related to the Government of India will remain open.
RBI has told that there will be no Sunday holiday in these branches. RBI says that due to the bank branches remaining open, all government transactions related to receiving and payment for the financial year 2023-24 can be accounted for.
