Please tell that Prem Ganapathy was born in Nagalapuram in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu. His family was very poor. After studying only till 10th standard, he left his studies due to lack of money. The family was also not small but there were parents and their total of seven children. Due to the poor economic condition of the family, he started working from a very young age. He started his shop opposite Vashi station where he used to sell Idli and Dosa. He also took two brothers Murugan and Paramishavan along with him in this work.

The specialty of his small stall was that it used to be neat and clean. Due to the cleanliness, people liked to visit his stall. People also started liking the taste of his dosa because he was serving only authentic taste to the people. His business soon started flourishing. He started earning a profit of 20 thousand rupees every month, after which he rented a shop in Vashi, where raw materials and spices were prepared.

First restaurant opened after five years

After several years of hard work, he accumulated Rs 50,000 in 1997 and opened his first restaurant named Prem Sagar Dosa Plaza. The rent of this place was five thousand rupees. He hired two people to run this restaurant. Mostly college going people used to visit the restaurant. Meanwhile, he also created his website and introduced dosa as a fusion with authentic taste. He added many other recipes to his dosa menu, taking his menu to 10-15 dosas. His business spread so much that he started earning up to 10 lakhs every month.

Launch of Fusion Dosa

In the year 1999, Prem Ganpati started Fusion Dosa and did a fusion of Chinese with Dosa. This fusion was very much liked by his customers. People liked his Chinese style dosa very much. He introduced unique variety in Dosa like American Chopsy, Schezwan Dosa, Paneer Chilli Dosa, Spring Rose Dosa. Till the year 2002, he introduced 104 varieties in Dosa Plaza and it was very popular among the people.

Meanwhile, the first mall was being built in Mumbai. That’s when he opened the counter of Dosa Plaza in Mumbai’s first mall. Here he had to invest three lakhs, for which he also took a loan. On the opening of this counter, there was an earning of six lakhs in the very first month. After this he started giving franchise of Dosa Plaza. Here too he was benefited.

Entered the international market in the year 2005

After that he moved out of Mumbai and opened his franchisees and outlets in many states of India. By the year 2007, they had reached nine cities of the country. After this he decided to step into the international market. In the year 2008, their counter opened in Asia’s biggest mall. After this he opened his counter in New Zealand as well. In the year 2011, their Dosa Plaza counter opened in Dubai.
