Reliance Industries: Mukesh Ambani quietly closed this service, started with fanfare last year – jiomart has quietly paused the operations of jiomart express
New Delhi: Reliance Retail’s JioMart has quietly shut down its quick commerce grocery delivery service JioMart Express. The company started this service in March last year and in this the goods were being delivered to the users in 90 minutes. According to sources, this service has been discontinued. Users are not able to download Geomart Express app from Google Play Store. Also its website is also active. On downloading it, users are being asked to try Geomart on WhatsApp. On booking an order on JioMart through WhatsApp, delivery is taking several hours or a day. That is, it is clear that quick service delivery has now stopped on Geomart.
Reliance’s Jio Platforms has partnered with WhatsApp’s parent company Meta Inc. Ordering on JioMart through WhatsApp is a part of this. Reliance launched JioMart Express in Navi Mumbai in March last year with plans to roll it out to 200 cities. A source said that JioMart does not want to be in this kind of business. It costs a lot of cash. There was a lot of hype on this last year. Due to this Reliance also jumped into express delivery but it will not continue further. Gautam adani: Number 2 to 10, then 21 and now how did Gautam Adani reach number 24? Mukesh Ambani also slipped to number 12
competition in quick delivery
A spokesperson for Isha Ambani-led Reliance Retail has confirmed this. He said that JioMart Express was a pilot project which was launched for select users. The company said in a statement that the company’s digital commerce business in grocery will continue in various forms. JioMart is currently present in more than 350 cities. Similarly, Geomart’s service is available in more than 35 cities through WhatsApp and Milkbasket. These services are being extended.
Investors are keeping a close eye on Quick Commerce platforms. The reason for this is that huge cash is being pumped into it. There is a competition among many companies for quick delivery. These include Swiggy’s Instamart, Zomato’s Blinkit, BigBasket’s BB Now and Zepto. Reliance Retail has also invested heavily in quick commerce startup Dunzo. This company had fired about three percent of the employees last month. Along with this, many changes were made to curb the cost. Geomart had planned to use Dunzo’s delivery fleet for the express. But it didn’t help him much.
