Reservation is the factor of social inequality, especially upper caste reservation is a big fraud

Reservation is made up of two words aa + protection. ‘A’ is the prefix in the word reservation and protection means to protect. Keeping a place in advance for an object or person is called reservation. India gained independence in the year 1947. Dr. Ambedkar was appointed chairman of the drafting committee for the Indian Constitution. Special clauses were placed in the constitution for the advancement of socially and educationally backward classes or Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes while providing equal opportunities to all citizens. Separate constituencies were allotted for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to ensure their political representation for 10 years. Reservation came into force on 26 January 1950 in independent India. The protection or reservation given by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar to the backward castes was appropriate. At that time the country had just come out of the chains of slavery. After independence, revolution was needed to bring social equality in the country. Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar taught the lesson of social equality to the people by bringing reservation under this revolution. The reservation implemented for 10 years was a good example of social equality. In these 10 years, the social, political, economic and religious condition of the people belonging to the backward castes had improved. These backward caste people had reached a good position in the society. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had said that this reservation should be only for 10 years. There should be a review every 10 years whether there has been any improvement in the condition of those who are being given reservation or not? He had also clearly said that if reservation leads to the development of any class, then the next generation should not be given the benefit of this system, because reservation does not mean a crutch, with the help of which the whole life can be lived. It is just a base to grow, nothing more than that.

Since independence, political parties have been making reservation an issue before elections. All governments have been implementing reservation because reservation had become the basis of getting votes for political parties. It has been 75 years since the country became independent. Now the situation is that the upper castes have reached a low position. The main objective of reservation should be to reserve endangered species. Reservation spread like a fire in the society and burnt social equality to ashes. General category person cannot apply in reserved quota. Reserved quota person can also apply in general category quota in every government appointments. Under which reserved category people are also working in general category jobs. Governments have done the work of crushing the upper castes by continuing the reservation. This is not equality, it is inequality. This is not justice but injustice. Therefore, it has become difficult for the general class people to get government jobs. Today, when India is moving forward on the path of progress, why is a conspiracy being hatched to push it back again?

Still continuing the reservation is a conspiracy to divide the society into two parts. Reservation is not the need of the country today. We think that the Dalit class will take the initiative to remove this reservation, but it is not possible at all. Backward castes have been crippled by the governments by giving them reservation. Just as if a healthy person is inculcated the habit of crutches, he will take the help of crutches even when he is on his feet. It means to say that the backward castes are no longer backward, nor do they need any kind of crutch. People who have got used to the support of crutches will never ask to remove their crutches. They have become the President and Prime Minister of the country from the reserved class, then how this class was left behind? In many departments, senior officers are from the reserved category. Many big leaders are from the reserved category. Then how can we believe that even today the development of the Dalit class has not taken place? The Dalit class has developed a lot, now it is neither backward nor weak. Now these are completely prosperous people. Nowadays a category of reservation EWS remains the subject of discussion. EWS (Economically Weaker Section) which is called Economic Weaker Section in Hindi. It was made to give reservation in education and government jobs to the general category people, under which reservation is given on economic basis. In the month of January 2019, the central government had implemented 10 percent reservation on economic basis to give reservation to general category people in government jobs, schools and colleges. For this, 103rd amendment was made in the constitution.

There are following conditions for the reservation of Economic Weaker Section like a person of general category (General Category) will not be considered in EWS if his family has

1. Five acres or more of agricultural land.

2. Has a residential flat of one thousand square feet or more.

3. Residential plot of 100 square yards or more in notified municipalities.

4. Residential plots of 200 square yards or more in areas other than notified municipalities.

5. The government also made it clear that if a family has land or property in different places or cities, then it will be decided to be EWS or not only by adding all of them.

To get the benefit of EWS, applicants must have an annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh and proof of assets. For this, applicants have to get income and asset certificates made. According to the guidelines issued by the UGC for teacher recruitment, only those whose annual income does not exceed eight lakh rupees can get the benefit of EWS quota on the post of Professor and Associate Professor. For Associate Professor, in addition to other educational qualifications, it is necessary to have 8 years of teaching experience in the post of Assistant Professor. Similarly, for the post of Professor, teaching experience of 10 years at the post of Assistant and Associate Professor is necessary. The question arises that how will the EWS quota candidates be found for the post of Associate Professor and Professor? The annual income of candidates teaching for eight years on the post of Assistant Professor exceeds eight lakh rupees. This is the reason why candidates are getting disqualified during the screening process itself. Therefore, appointment to the posts of Professor and Associate Professor under EWS quota in universities has become impossible. Due to the standard of EWS quota and eligibility of these posts, the candidates are not getting. The government is playing vote politics in the guise of EWS. The upper castes are not getting the benefit of this reservation. EWS reservation is a fraud with the upper castes. The EWS quota has been given only on economic basis and while at first glance it seems that it will work as a lifeline for the poor people of the country, but there are many shortcomings in it. Governments of all political parties have played with words like reservation. Reservation has been misused. The central government should give 50 percent reservation to the general category in all government jobs without any conditions, only then the general category will be able to come on par with the economically and socially backward classes, otherwise the game of reservation should end. Reservation given continuously since independence is a factor of social inequality.
