Parliament In view of the ruckus created by the MPs of the opposition parties in both the Houses of Parliament to discuss the issue of lapse in security and demanding the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, 78 MPs of both the Houses were suspended. Among the MPs, 45 are from the Upper House and 33 are from the Lok Sabha. It is noteworthy that a total of 92 MPs have been suspended so far in this session. Justifying the suspension of MPs from opposition parties, Union Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal told reporters that the opposition members brought placards and deliberately disrupted the parliamentary proceedings whereas earlier the decision had been taken that carrying placards in the House would not be allowed. Will not be allowed.

He said that despite repeated requests from the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the opposition leaders did not listen to him and came to the Well. Got up from his seat and created all kinds of disruptions. Many members came to the House carrying placards. Whereas in the all-party meeting it was decided that no member of any party would bring any kind of placard to the House.

Repeatedly appeal was made to all the members to sit on their seats and speak. He said that due to the behavior of the opposition members, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha had to take the decision to suspend 33 MPs. At the same time, in Rajya Sabha, the Chairman had to suspend 34 MPs for this session while 11 members had to be suspended till the report of the Privileges Committee. Overall, there were 45 members in Rajya Sabha and the Chairman had to take a very unfortunate decision.

Piyush Goyal said that I think this was a premeditated plan of the opposition members. Congress National President and MP Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the above step of the government and said that the Central Government is attacking Parliament and democracy. Throwing democratic norms into the dustbin. The earlier suspension of such a large number of MPs in a single day had happened in 1989 during the Rajiv Gandhi government. At that time 63 MPs were suspended. At that time Congress had more than 400 MPs in the Lok Sabha.

Suspension of MPs has been happening from time to time. When the ruling party and the opposition become adamant on their views, further uproar begins. If the Chairmen of both the Houses feel that the MPs are creating ruckus to disrupt the work of the House, then they have the right to suspend the members of their respective Houses. The chairmen of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have used their above mentioned rights. In a democracy, it is natural to have differences of opinion and oppose government policies.

The opposition plays a strong role in the success of the parliamentary system. The truth is that a system in which the opposition has no role cannot be called democracy. And, the basis of the concept of opposition in parliamentary democracy is the political party system because in the absence of political parties neither democracy can be imagined nor is any duality of ruling party and opposition possible. On the other hand, in the absence of an effective opposition, any party system will soon collapse. Political parties should be organized on some ideological basis. He should have faith in some specific political-economic beliefs, ideals and programs with which he should go before the public and contest elections.

If you are successful and come to power, then implement your election manifesto as per the mandate received and if you are not successful and lose the elections, then continue to fight the political battle through constitutional means in and outside the Parliament for your declared principles. . The public decides which party comes to power and which becomes the opposition. Democracy is the rule of public opinion in the public interest, MPs from both the ruling and opposition parties should keep this in mind. This is in the interest of democracy, not stubbornness. The ruling party should also remember the law of nature that the tree which bears fruits bends.
