RuPay Prime Volleyball League 3 to be organized from February 15, Chennai to host. Loktej Business News

New Delhi, 29 January (Hindustan Reporter). The much-awaited 3rd edition of the RuPay Prime Volleyball League powered by A23 will commence from February 15, 2024 and will be hosted by the beautiful city of Chennai.

Nine franchises – Ahmedabad Defenders, Bengaluru Torpedo, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Blitz, Delhi Hurricanes, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Kochi Blue Spikers, Kolkata Thunderbolts and Mumbai Meteors – will be seen competing for the coveted trophy. The final match will be played at SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium on March 21. Reigning champions Ahmedabad Defenders will take on hosts Chennai Blitz in the tournament opener on February 15, while last year’s runners-up Bengaluru Torpedoes will face Season 1 winners Kolkata Thunderbolts on the same day.

India’s only volleyball league powered by A23 is marketed by leading sports marketing firm – Baseline Ventures. They also hold co-ownership in this league. The third season of the RuPay Prime Volleyball League will bring an exciting new format with the introduction of Super 5s, promising a bigger, better and bolder edition.

The exciting Super 5 stage will take place between March 11 and March 18, with the top five teams from the league stage competing in a round-robin format to determine the final three teams. The first-placed team in the Super 5 will directly qualify for the finals, while the second- and third-placed teams will play two hands each in the eliminator on March 19. The winner of the eliminator will be the second team to secure a place in the finals.

On hosting the upcoming season in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Shri Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “Since the inception of the league, we have always wanted to host an edition of the RuPay Prime Volleyball League in our city because of its popularity. Is growing rapidly. Volleyball is a game that is close to the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu and there is a huge talent for this game, which can show its shine in the coming days.
