Samsung launches “Message Guard” to boost mobile security

Samsung has unveiled a new security feature called “Samsung Message Guard” to provide better protection against zero-click exploits on its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Zero-click exploits pose a significant threat to user privacy, as users do not need to click on any suspicious links or files to become victims of malware attacks. The feature provides preemptive protection to limit exposure to invisible threats disguised as image attachments. When an image file arrives, it is isolated in a virtual quarantine. The advanced “sandbox” feature examines the file bit by bit and analyzes it in a controlled environment to make sure it can’t infect the rest of the device.
In a blog post, Samsung said that data breaches are becoming increasingly common, with rates more than tripling between 2013 and 2021. One in three consumers globally has been a victim of a data breach, where their personal data was hacked. The “Message Guard” feature will be available on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series and will be gradually rolled out to other Galaxy smartphones and tablets later this year.
Zero-click exploits are a growing threat in an era of increasing cybercrime targeting user data. Samsung is strengthening its security features to better protect users against data breaches and cyber attacks by providing preemptive protection against invisible threats.
