Scorting India commissions state-of-the-art shrimp and fish feed plant in Surat

Norway-based Skrating, a global leader in aqua feed and nutrition, today inaugurated its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for shrimp and fish feed at Mangrol in Surat. This state-of-the-art facility has further enabled Skrating to provide greater support to its customers and the Indian aquaculture sector.

The facility was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, Minister of State, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, and Michel Van Erkel, Counselor for Agriculture for India and Sri Lanka, Embassy of the Netherlands.

Dr. Sanjeev Balyan congratulated the team for this achievement and welcomed the multinational company, which has brought together its world-class expertise and research for the development of Indian aquaculture. He gave an inspiring message to the Indian aquaculture industry to use the necessary technologies to improve productivity and efficiency and boost domestic consumption to maintain a leading position at the global level.

Speaking on the occasion, Erkel said that last year they enthusiastically celebrated 75 years of diplomatic relations and that Netherlands business has found its way into India. Spread over an area of ​​20,000 square metres, and built at an investment of 18.5 million Euros (about Rs 163 crore), the facility will cater to the needs of shrimp and fish farming. The Mangrol facility has three production lines with an annual production capacity of 50,000 metric tons. It can produce both extruded/floating and pelleted/sinking feed depending on the species and customer requirements. Sufficient land and infrastructure is available for expansion of production capacity in future.
