From land to sky and from agricultural machines to cryogenic engines, India is moving fast to become self-reliant in every sector.
Singh said that in the fast changing world, self-reliance is not only an option, but it is a necessity. He said, we are ensuring self-reliance of this country in every field. It has increased more in the defense sector, because this matter is directly related to the defense of this country. He also gave the example of a line said by a philosopher that those who forget their history commit the mistake of repeating it.
Singh further said, when I talk about self-reliance of the army, it does not mean only soldiers, but it also means military equipment. The role of military equipment increases with changing times. Today there is a new warrior in the war in the name of technology, so we have to think ahead. Singh said imported equipment has its own limitations and sometimes a situation may arise when you want to use it and another country may block it.
Most of the devices today have electronic systems, he said. Therefore, can the possibility be ruled out that the chip in the platform or equipment we are using informs the enemy about our position. Imported weapons come to you with certain conditions, which are not proper for a sovereign nation.
He further added, therefore, to protect the sovereignty of the country, we need equipment with the most advanced technology and we have to develop it in our own country. Raksha Mantri called for the development of dual-use technology, which apart from strengthening the defense sector, also improves the quality of life of the people. He said that together with DRDO, academia and industry, we have tried to make India self-reliant in the field of defense and the results of our efforts have started coming. It is a matter of pleasure that our domestic defense production has crossed the mark of one lakh crore rupees today.
