Sensex crosses 65,000 in early trade, Nifty also at record high

HDFC, HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finserv and ICICI Bank were major gainers in the Sensex pack.
Mumbai Domestic stock markets continued to rally for the fourth consecutive day on Monday and the BSE Sensex jumped over 449 points to reach above the 65,000-mark. The 30-share BSE Sensex gained 449.46 points in early trade to reach an all-time high of 65,168.02. The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also gained 128.95 points to reach a record 19,318 points. HDFC, HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finserv and ICICI Bank were major gainers in the Sensex pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid, Maruti, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, HCL Technologies and Axis Bank declined. In other Asian markets, South Korea’s Cospi, Japan’s Nikkei, China’s Shanghai Composite Index and Hong Kong’s Hangseng were in profit. The US market was in the lead on Friday. Foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 6,397.13 crore on Friday, according to stock market data.
