Seventh round of Coal Block auction begins, Rajnath said – India is encouraging alternative energy sources

The seventh round of commercial coal block auction began in Delhi today. It was started by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. During this, the Defense Minister said that as we are developing, the consumption of energy is also increasing. For this we have to make efforts from now on. This allocation is a step of the government for the same. He said that countries which have developed on the basis of coal are now talking about ban on coal. That is, after their own development, when it comes to the development of others, they are showing concern about the environment. He clearly said that India has always paid equal attention to development and environmental balance and will continue to do so in the future.

The Defense Minister said that after the Ukraine conflict, countries have learned that no matter how big and developed a country is, if it is not self-sufficient in its energy needs, it may face obstacles in development. He said that India is promoting alternative energy sources like ethanol, biofuel and compressed biogas. Rajnath said the country is working towards decarbonisation through electric vehicles and use of hydrogen. He said that it is necessary for all of us to make far reaching efforts towards energy security of the nation. He said that the allocation of coal blocks so far, and the process going on for further allocations, is an important step taken by the government in this direction.

Raksha Mantri said that today’s climate change and environmental change is a reality, and it cannot be ignored in any way. There is no doubt that coal, a polluting fuel, has to be continuously replaced by human beings. The search is on. Our efforts are also continuing in this direction. He said that there are many countries that give advice to countries like India, that the use of coal is threatening the safety of the environment; That’s why other countries should avoid using coal. I see this concern not as concern, but as climate hypocrisy. If I talk in the context of my country, our per capita carbon emissions have been much less than these countries since the beginning. That is, in the path of its progress, India has been one of those countries, which has paid equal attention to its development and environmental balance.
