New Delhi: Indian stock markets opened on a higher note today and touched all-time highs in early trade. Strong performance in consumer durables, metals and capital goods sectors boosted the indices. But there was a boom in all the sectoral indices. BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and BSE Bankex were the least successful. The performance of the Broader Index was also in line with the Main Indices. 2011 scrips advanced while 1,115 scrips declined on the BSE. That is, the advance-decline ratio was completely in favor of advances. Motilal Oswal Financial Services was the top gainer in the BSE Midcap index. Dhunseri Ventures Ltd was the top gainer in BSE Smallcap. The stock rallied over 11 per cent to Rs 287, its 52-week high, on the BSE. Heavy buying is also seen in Sree Rayalaseema Hi-Strength Hypo and Jay Bharat Maruti Ltd. At 11:05 am, the BSE Sensex rose 0.51% to 63,741 points. The Nifty 50 index also gained 1.24 per cent to reach 18,921 points. Tata Motors, Titan and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers in the Sensex pack, while Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra and Axis Bank were the top gainers. Shares declined.
