There was a rise in early trading in domestic markets on Thursday. BSE’s 30-share index Sensex jumped 351.88 points to 71,708.48 in early trade. Nifty rose 99 points to 21,616.35.
Among Sensex companies, shares of Bajaj Finance, NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Motors, Power Grid, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nestle, Titan and Reliance Industries were among the gainers. Shares of HCL Tech, Tata Steel, Maruti and Bharti Airtel suffered losses.
In other Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei and China’s Shanghai Composite were in gain, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was in loss. US markets closed with a negative trend on Wednesday.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.27 percent higher at $78.46 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 666.34 crore on Wednesday.
