Shiv Sena Samajwadi’s organization minister sitting in his electronic showroom on City Road of Batala was attacked by two miscreants posing as customers in broad daylight. Started firing quickly. In this firing, apart from the Shiv Sena leader, his brother and son also got bullet injuries. All the three injured were taken to a private hospital in Batala where doctors have referred them to Amritsar in view of their serious condition. The incident happened on Saturday afternoon. The miscreants executed this incident in an area where there is crowd all the time. It is being told that there were two accused who carried out the incident and about seven to eight bullets were fired during this firing.
Significantly, the two police security personnel who were provided security to Shiv Sena leader Rajeev Mahajan were removed some time back. The assailants knew this fact and taking advantage of this, the assailants entered the shop and attacked the Mahajan brothers in broad daylight.
Hindu leaders have been on the target of terrorists since the 1980s, but with the passage of time, the issue of security of Hindu leaders has been stopped by the rulers from taking them seriously. As a result, Hindu leaders became easy prey for terrorists who could be attacked whenever they wanted. The Punjab government needs to understand the seriousness of the issue.
Taking advantage of the factionalism of the Shiv Sainiks, the police and the administration are propagating every day that a new Shiv Sena comes into existence everyday just to take two security personnel. The police and administration have to understand that it is the responsibility of the administration and the police to provide security, the security system should be strengthened by ignoring factionalism. Because the aim of the attackers is to kill Hindu leaders as well as tarnish the image of the Punjab government. After the murder of senior Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar, taking the attacks on Hindu leaders in Punjab seriously, the Punjab government should make adequate security arrangements for Hindu leaders. Various Shiv Sena leaders should unite and take up the issue of their security seriously with the Punjab government.
