San Francisco: Snapchat’s parent company Snap has launched a new business unit that will offer Augmented Reality (AI) solutions for retailers and businesses to integrate them into their apps. The new ‘Augmented Reality Solutions for Business’ (ARES) division will enable businesses to adapt Snap’s AR features to their apps and websites to attract customers and create more immersive experiences, reports The Verge. With the augmented reality shopping tool, ARES hopes to help business retailers increase conversions and reduce return rates.
To that end, ARES will provide its customers with professional services ranging from product marketing to customer support, according to the report. This is in addition to the tools included in its first solution, ‘Shopping Suite’, which is aimed at retailers in industries such as fashion, apparel, accessories and home goods. Customers can try on clothes, sunglasses and shoes using the virtual try-on facilities in the shopping suite.
In addition, they can upload a photo of themselves to see how they will appear, or they can interact with AR experiences to see how the product will appear on their body in real time. The Shopping suite also includes the Enterprise Manager backend system. According to the company, this will make it easier for businesses to use its software development kit, allowing them to build AR experiences and even test real-time performance analytics, the report added.
