What is different in this solar cooking system
The solar cooker that Indian Oil Corporation has invented can be used indoors, that means you can use it in your kitchen. This Solar Cooking Stove can be recharged. This solar powered stove can be used by keeping it in the kitchen.
no cost except purchase
SSV Ramkumar, director, R&D, IndianOil, says that apart from the cost of buying this stove, there is no maintenance cost. It is being seen as an alternative to fossil fuel. That is, neither fuel nor wood is needed for this solar stove.
no need to put in the sun
SSV Ramkumar says that this stove is different from the solar cooker. Different because it does not have to be kept in the sun. This stove has been developed by the Research and Development Department (R&D Wing) of IOC in Faridabad. It runs on solar energy obtained through PV panels placed on the roof. This stove will not only save money, but will also get rid of the problem of pollution.
Three times food will be prepared for a family
There is a cable attached to this IOC stove. This cable is connected to the solar plate on the roof. The energy generated from the solar plate reaches the stove through a cable. The stove runs with this energy only. The solar plate stores solar energy first in a thermal battery. Food can be cooked with this energy even at night. With this stove, a three-time meal can be easily prepared for a family of four.
Testing has been done across the country
The stove which was unveiled by the PM today has been tried at 60 places across the country. The IOC official says that no matter what the weather is, boiling, frying, baking, etc. can all be done on this stove. If the weather is bad and the sun is not rising, then the stove can also be charged with electricity. It has been tested at places ranging from Leh-Ladakh to Lakshadweep, Gwalior, Udaipur, Delhi and NCR etc.
what will be the cost
IOC official says that now the way for commercial launching of this stove has been cleared. On the question of what will be its price, he says that its price can be between Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000. If government help is available on this, then after this the price of the stove can come down to Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000. The life of this stove is 10 years. That is, you have to spend once and then there is no other expenditure.
