Mumbai Domestic indices Sensex and Nifty rose in early trade on Wednesday. BSE’s 30-share index Sensex rose 270.18 points to 72,740.48 points in early trade. NSE Nifty stood at 22,092.05 points with a gain of 87.35 points. Among the Sensex listed companies, shares of Reliance Industries, Maruti, NTPC, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever and Larsen & Toubro were the biggest gainers.
Shares of Infosys, Wipro, IndusInd Bank and Nestle were among the losers. In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei was in profit, while China’s Shanghai Composite, South Korea’s Kospi and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in loss. The US market closed in negative territory on Tuesday.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.90 per cent lower at US$85.47 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 10.13 crore on Tuesday.
