According to the data, BSE’s index of 30 shares Sensex opened with a fall of 21.87 points. Its level was 72,218. NSE Nifty also opened at 21,727. There has been a slight decline in the indices of BSE and NSE on the very first day of the year. However, this is not a sign of despair because as the day progresses, there is a possibility of the market becoming stronger.
Talking about midcap index, it was trading at the level of 46,319 with a height of 137 points. Midcap has reached a record high which is up by 137 points. Its level has reached 46319, which is a record level.
Among the Sensex companies, shares of Hindustan Unilever, Mahindra & Mahindra, Wipro, Axis Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, NTPC, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the losers. Whereas shares of Tata Motors, Nestle, IndusInd Bank and Power Grid were in profit. The BSE gained 11,399.52 points or 18.73 per cent in 2023, while the Nifty was up 3,626.1 points or 20 per cent. Asian markets are closed on Monday on the occasion of New Year. US markets closed with a slight decline on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.14 percent to $77.04 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) had bought shares worth Rs 1,459.12 crore on Friday.
